Timber construction starts. The big trucks and the crane truck arrive.
We're finally getting started! Our new building will be erected from today. Early in the morning, the Taurus truck-mounted crane is ready on the construction site to unload the prefabricated cross-laminated timber elements from the truck and then move them to the designated site.
Appesbacher Holzbau places the numbered components in position on the mortar strip, supports them and connects them to the substrate using the metal brackets installed the day before.
The homely atmosphere of the solid timber construction can already be felt in the shell. We opted for a solid timber house with an exposed timber surface because the CO2 footprint of this building was very important to us. We also really like the look of the wooden surfaces, which has a demonstrably positive effect on the living and working climate in a wooden house.
The house consists of approx. 300 trees from Salzburg's Lungau region and binds approx. 425 tons of CO2. Compared to the CO2 emissions released by other building materials, we save many additional tons of CO2 emissions.
