The lake access

As Balthasar Volcano sits enthroned on one of the most beautiful hills around Lake Wolfgangsee, it would be a real concern for the town in particular if there were direct access to the lake :)

 

For our guests, however, we naturally have several options to choose from for using Lake Wolfgangsee.

Bacherlwiese - St. Wolfgang public bathing area

Since 2022, the 5000m2 area of the Bacherlwiese has offered beautiful access to Lake Wolfgangsee. There is a small snack stand with seating, toilets and a few parking spaces.

There is no sunbathing lawn here, but a small wooden platform offers space to linger. There are also benches and you are only a few meters away from the center of St. Wolfgang.

Camping Appesbach

All our guests, especially those with dogs, receive vouchers for day admission to Camping Appesbach. Here you will find a small boat, canoe and sup rental as well as a restaurant, snack bars, toilet facilities and a sunbathing lawn.

Around the Wolfgangsee

If you would like to explore other places around the lake by bike, on foot or by car, we are happy to recommend the most beautiful ones on site. In Strobl, Abersee and St. Gilgen there are several free and non-free bathing spots. There are also beautiful natural bathing areas and places to linger between the villages. 

 

 

For all those who like it cooler, there is also the possibility of using the rivers and streams in the area. We will be happy to provide you with more information.
